Job Description Job Description *This position will start Mid-April* SUMMARY: As a Civil Journeyworker Foreman / Construction Craft Labor Journeyworker Forman, you will oversee and manage construction crews on various projects. You will ensure that work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Your leadership and expertise will be crucial to the success of our construction projects. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervise and coordinate the active of the civil labor crews. Perform and direct construction tasks such as racking and panel assembly, hand digging trenches, backfilling and material organization. Manage labor production timelines, daily crew responsibilities and materials effectively. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Provide training and guidance to apprentices and less experienced laborers. Train and mentor in concrete techniques, ensuring consistency and quality across the crew. Coordinate with those operating equipment to ensure proper certification and use of machinery. Communicate with construction managers, site supervisors, safety team, customer field representatives and other stakeholders to ensure project success. Conduct site inspections and quality control checks. Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that arise. Maintain detailed records of project progress, labor hours, and materials used. Follow safety guidelines and contribute to a safe work environment. Receive and retain feedback and direction from your Site Supervisor. Follow all directions and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner. Communicate any delays. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: All employees must demonstrate the ability to promote and embody the Premise Core Values: Be Ready to Learn, Own the Result, Build Trust, Do the Right Thing, and Drive to Complete. In addition to the above, other required qualifications for this role are: High school diploma or equivalent. Extensive experience as a Civil Construction Journeyworker or equivalent is required Proven leadership and supervisory skills. In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and equipment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret complex construction plans and specifications. Proficiency with construction tools and equipment. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions. Ability to adhere to safety standards and practices. Travel overnight to remote job sites up to 80% of the time. This may include out of state travel as well. Valid CDL Class A Driver's License preferred Certifications/Licenses: OSHA 30, DOT Medical Card, CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens OTHER REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods and honest analysis to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Can see hidden issues. Looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answer. Is skilled at using analysis skills to define the problem and identify the solution. Technical/Professional Knowledge & Skills - Possesses the relevant and required knowledge and skills to effectively perform on the job. Maintains relevant knowledge and skills as appropriate. Keeps up with current developments and trends in the areas of expertise. Managing Work and Priority Setting - Effectively manages one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently. Can identify and concentrate efforts on the more important priorities. Can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal and creates focus. Can attend to a broader range of activities and gets more done in less time than others. Safety Awareness - Identifies and corrects conditions that affect employee safety and upholds safety standards. Monitors safety or security issues after taking corrective action to ensure continued compliance. Demonstrates the organization’s safety procedures and best practices and is a role model for the desired behaviors. Quality of Work/Quality Improvement - Is dedicated to providing the highest quality product and services. Is committed to continuous improvement through empowerment and management by data. Creates a learning environment that leads to the most efficient and effective work processes. Follows procedures and monitors own work to ensure quality. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, walk, lift, squat, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, power tools, and equipment. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift more than 50 lbs. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will work both inside in a normal indoor office environment and outside at remote job sites. The employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold and wet or humid. The employee may work in high places, and/or work around moving mechanical parts, vehicles and other equipment. The employee may also work in areas where the noise volume is loud and constant. The employee must have the ability to travel to remote job sites approximately 60 – 80% of their work week which will include overnight stays.
