Thousands of kids need extra help building a strong foundation in
early literacy and numeracy skills before Kindergarten. Take action
as an Educator Corps member and help kids emerge stronger and ready
As an Educator Corps member, you'll spend your days helping kids
ages 3-5 to talk, read, write, sing, and play in order to develop
early literacy and math skills. You will take what you already do
in your classroom, and combine it with the extra data,
interventions, training and coaching in Early Learning Corps.
Educator Corps members serve in an hours position that matches
their current school schedule.
We are currently recruiting tutors for the 2022-23 school year,
with the option of beginning in August, October or January.
This is an AmeriCorps member position with Early Learning Corps and
you'll be joining a team of more than 100 Minnesota educators.
Together, we're on a mission to help our youngest learners get
ready for school!
What to Expect:
Use proven strategies to help students build their skills and
Spend your days helping children play rhyming games, write their
names, learn letter sounds, and develop counting skills
Collaborate with coaches to monitor student progress and see what's
Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data
management software. Commit to continuous improvement through
coaching, training and professional development.
Represent Early Learning Corps at school-sponsored activities and
share your experience with the wider community to help build

What it Takes:
To participate in Educator Corps, you need to be a classroom
teacher, paraprofessional or aide working with students ages 3-5 -
and meet the following minimum qualifications. By the time they
begin their service, our members are:
Recommended by the principal, school administrator or internal
Competent with basic computer skills (like email and navigating
Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or
A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United
Able to successfully complete a background check
*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood
arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
are not eligible to serve as AmeriCorps members at this time.

Early Learning Corps is powered by AmeriCorps members who serve as
tutors. Started in 2003, Early Learning Corps has helped more than
100,000 children build early literacy and numeracy skills and get
ready for Kindergarten. Rigorous third-party evaluation has shown
Early Learning Corps students consistently outperform their peers
on key emergent literacy outcomes. The program began as an
initiative of Reading Corps and is replicated nationally in 7
states, the District of Columbia, and is still growing!

fueled by research from the National Science + Service
Collaborative. As a national organization, Ampact demonstrates the
power of national service to solve complex social problems by
creating innovative programs that focus on the key areas of
education, environmental stewardship, and healthy futures for
communities. These programs include Reading Corps, Math Corps,
Early Learning Corps, Recovery Corps, Climate Impact Corps, and
Heading Home Corps.
