C-P Flexible Packaging is a successful and fast-growing essential manufacturing company that uses an impressive array of digital pre-press and wide-web flexographic printing capabilities and extrusion and adhesive laminators to produce creative flexible packaging solutions for our customers. With a primary focus on serving the food industry, C-P specializes in roll stock, pouches, re-sealable packaging and shrink sleeves. Our headquarters and main manufacturing facility is located York, PA, with additional operations in Bristol, PA, Buffalo, NY, Lakeville, MN, and Aurora, Ontario.In addition to the other advantages of working for CP, we're offering premium pay on top of a very competitive base pay, and bonus opportunities.This position will have responsibility for developing, validating, verifying and maintaining the company's Food Safety/SQF Systems and HACCP Plans, and assume control of the daily operation of the SQF System.Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: (including but not limited to the following)--- Oversee compliance efforts with AIB, SQF, and all customer food safety audits.--- Manage quality database and analyze data for optimizing production efficiencies.--- Development and oversight of a formal Root Cause & Corrective Action process, including responses to customers and for internal/manufacturing issues--- Preparation for customer audits and serving as "point person" during audits.--- Manage the company Document Control and Retention Program.--- Manage the Integrated Pest Management Program--- SQF Responsibilities:--- Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals, the food safety plan and the food quality plan.--- Take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the SQF System; and communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System.--- Manage the implementation and maintenance of the SQF System on a daily basis.--- Issue and maintain RGA's.--- Establishing and implementing the training needs of the organization's personnel to ensure they have the required competencies to carry out those functions affecting product, legality, safety, and quality.--- Serve as a backup for the site Quality Department Manager.--- Participate in Root Cause Investigations to include Corrective Action Plans--- Maintain communication with applicable regulatory agencies and certification bodies to include USDA, FDA, SQF and AIB.--- Responsible for communicating changes in relevant legislation/regulations, scientific and technical developments, and relevant industry codes of practice to company management and providing training where required. Applicable legislation includes but is not limited to:--- FDA, CFR Title 21--- Current SQF Code--- Other duties as assigned by Management------ Supervisory Responsibilities: (if any)--- NoneQualifications: (education, experience, specific skills, machinery/tools, etc.)--- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in packaging, food or pharmaceutical field in a quality function.--- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.--- Experience dealing with customers and suppliers.--- Solid understanding of database and excel programs, and their use in QA systems.--- Experience interacting with various company departments and managers.--- Experience managing subordinates, overseeing work, managing performance and expectations.--- Ability to understand and demonstrate knowledge of the SQF Code and its application.--- Be competent to implement and maintain HACCP based food safety plans and food quality plans; and understand the SQF Code and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF System relevant to the scope of certification.--- Have completed a HACCP training course (must be renewed every 3 years).--- Have completed or must be willing to complete and Implement SQF Systems training course or Implementing SQF Systems examination.Physical Demands: (lifting X lbs., working at heights or underground, standing for long periods, etc.)--- Potential need to lift or move rolls of approximately 50 lbs. on an intermittent basis.--- Standing for long periods of time will be common.--- Ability to sit and use typical office equipment (PC, keyboard, mouse, copier, telephone, etc.) is required.
