Description American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist
for a 13-week inpatient acute care contract at a Critical Access
Hospital, working independently across acute inpatient and swing
bed rehab settings. Details - Inpatient acute care and swing bed
(rehab) setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) - May
occasionally be asked to see outpatients if time allows - Patient
caseload of 7–11 patients per day - Common diagnoses include
weakness related to illness, pneumonia, COVID, CHF, and COPD, with
a focus on MS and LTC-type patients; no critical care - Heavy focus
on ADL assessments in the morning - Monday–Friday day shift, 8:00
AM–12:00 PM and 12:30–4:30 PM - No weekend or holiday requirements
- 13-week contract - Charting in Cerner (transitioning to Epic)
Requirements - Active OT license required by start date; license
required if applicable - Minimum 1 year of OT experience outside of
school or clinical rotations - Current BLS certification (AHA) -
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Strong
communication skills and ability to hit the ground running - 2
references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from
within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or
supervisor reference from within the last 3 years Additional
Information - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Candidate
will function as the sole therapist for inpatient and swing bed,
with outpatient OTs available as a resource - Orientation during
the first week is scheduled alongside a current therapist for
inpatient coverage - Responsibilities include creating
individualized plans of care and thorough documentation - Any color
scrubs are acceptable; clean and professional or dress casual
attire required - Candidates who have previously worked at this
facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their
consideration date, and hospital approval is required - Candidates
living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which
