Children's Minnesota provides a continuum of psychiatric care including outpatient psychiatry clinic, integrated behavioral health in several general pediatric and specialty clinics, partial hospital and inpatient mental health care as well as psychiatric consultation to our emergency rooms and inpatient medical units. We are closely allied with strong Psychology, Eating disorders, Neuropsychology and Developmental Pediatrics departments, providing services on both the Minneapolis and St Paul hospital campuses.

• Our outpatient clinics welcome pediatric patients of all developmental levels who have identified mental health needs appropriate for psychiatric consultation and care. You will have the opportunity to work with patients with medical complexities, making collaboration and continuous learning essential and enriching aspects of this role. Additionally, our clinics see a diverse range of mental health diagnoses typical of outpatient psychiatry, offering a fulfilling and varied experience.
• Currently, no call is required for our outpatient providers. We offer additional paid opportunities for those interested in picking up shifts for our twenty-two-bed inpatient unit and consult service. We are also planning to expand opportunities for teaching and mentoring psychiatry provider trainees at various training levels, making it an exciting time to join our team and contribute to the future of child and adolescent psychiatry.
• As a full-time provider at Children's Minnesota, you will have the opportunity to maintain a flexible and balanced schedule, with 32 patient contact hours per week. Outpatient appointments typically last 90 minutes for new patients and 30 minutes for follow-ups, with the flexibility to extend visits as needed.
• Our supportive nursing and administrative staff are dedicated to helping you succeed, and we are continuously adjusting our team to ensure you have the resources you need. You'll collaborate closely with our experienced social work teams in the emergency rooms and inpatient medical units to provide comprehensive evaluation, consultation, and care. Our outpatient clinic hours and locations offer a blend of in-person and telehealth appointments, allowing you to work from various Children's locations or from the comfort of your home. This dynamic environment fosters professional growth and allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young adults.
  • Must have an M.D., D.O. with a current Minnesota Medical License or the ability to obtain one
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
