Midwest Veterinary Supply: is seeking a President: for our Lakeville, Minnesota corporate office.

Job Summary::
The President will oversee and manage all aspects of Midwest Veterinary Supply's operations and is ultimately responsible for the overall profitability of the company.

Essential Job Functions::

  • Develops, implements, and executes a strategic business plan. Evaluates and improves on structures that empower the company leaders to drive overall objectives, efficiencies, and service levels.
    • Collaborates and communicates with all levels of the organization to meet corporate goals with support of the company leaders responsible for directing Finance and Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, and Distribution.
      • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and company policies, procedures, and compliance and safety programs. Has ultimate authority for ensuring all company policies, procedures, and programs are designed to meet regulatory requirements.
        • Approves contracts, actively assisting with negotiations. Instrumental in cultivating positive manufacture, vendor, banking, insurance, and regulatory agency relationships.
          • Approves advertising, marketing, sales promotion, and incentive campaigns.
            • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, new technologies, market conditions, and regulatory changes relevant to the industry.
              • Perform other duties as assigned.
                Job Requirements & Qualifications::
                • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
                  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field; master's degree preferred.
                    • At least ten years of veterinary industry experience required.
                      • Ability to read, write and speak English
                        • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals
                          • Thorough understanding of the company's policies, procedures, systems, and objectives
                            • Thorough understanding of fiscal and human resource management techniques
                              • Thorough knowledge of compliance requirements and governmental regulations
                                • Ability to evaluate and implement sales and marketing strategies
                                  • Ability to develop divisional policies and procedures that are effective and clear
                                    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
                                      • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
                                        • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
                                          • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to exercise initiative, judgement, and discretion
                                            • Strong leadership skills
                                              • Ability to function well in a high-paced or stressful environment
                                                • Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and data entry
                                                  Mental & Physical Demands::
                                                  • Attention to detail critical to ensure accuracy and completion of objectives
                                                    • Regular interaction with people, team-player
                                                      • Fast pace of work, requires multi-tasking
                                                        • Must be able to handle high stress
                                                          • Frequent use of a telephone - listening and speaking
                                                            • Ability to work at a desk throughout the day
                                                              • Continuous and sometimes rapid use of hands for writing and computer keyboard
                                                                • Continuous use of a computer monitor requiring close vision
                                                                  • Ability to attend off-site meetings which may require air travel

                                                                    Equipment Used::
                                                                    Regularly uses typical office equipment including computer keyboard and terminal, telephone, fax and copier.

                                                                    Work Environment::
                                                                    Work is typically performed Monday through Friday in the corporate office environment. Occasional local and/or overnight travel is required.
