Th e Sr. Category Manager will develop and execute the sourcing plan, manage the procurement process, and oversee the inbound value chain of assigned materials for HHT manufacturing and distribution locations. This position will have significant influence on Hearth & Home Technologies' global electronics supply chain, which is experiencing significant growth and directly related to strategic growth initiatives. This position will manage the performance and lean management of suppliers. To be successful in the first six to twelve months on the job, this individual will: Support procurement activities to gain realized material cost savings of $400K by December 31, 2021. Work with assigned suppliers to reduce lead times at all manufacturing facilities to achieve lead times of one day or less for at least five suppliers by December 31, 2021. Improve supplier delivery performance for assigned PCBA electronics suppliers to achieve 99.6% on-time delivery. Supporting these objectives, this individual will have to: Identify and implement improvement s in supplier value chain by driving waste/cost out of the system Understand current inventory levels and put progressive plans in place to improve material and information flow with our raw material suppliers. Understand and implement improvements at suppliers to reduce late shipments, reduce minimum order quantity, increase delivery frequency, and reduce lead time. Develop comprehensive understanding of assigned commodities, associated global supply chain options, and drive category strategy decisions across enterprise. Very important in this senior category manager level role is the individual's ability to partner with the current supply base and develop sourcing plans to fulfill quality, delivery, cost, and safety expectations. They will also need to coordinate across corporate functions and divisions to share best practices and adherence to guidelines. This will require achieving an optimal balance between value of money and cost savings, while ensuring quality and excellent customer service is maintained. Qualifications BA or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred Professional Certifications a plus; Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) Ten to fifteen years durable consumer goods purchasing experience. Experience leading cross functional teams without direct reports. Skills and Abilities Good organizational skills, including program/project management and governance Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence and networking skills Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication and relationship building skills Proven ability to act independently to build consensus and drive change with little supervision Ability to develop actionable implementation plans Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management Strong negotiation skills Demonstrate the value-add of leveraging suppliers, promoting a global perspective, and building support for adoption of strategic plans.
